At Earlham, we view a career as not just a job, but a journey; as such, our office is committed to helping Earlhamites pursue their goals and aspirations even after graduation. Whether you’re considering a career change, going back to graduate school, or want to brush up on professional practices, our Career Coaches are ready to help. Alumni services include, but are not limited to:
- reviews of resumes, cover letters, graduate/professional school applications, and other career-related documents
- career coaching appointments to explore your skills, interests, and values and discuss possible career options
- access to web resources, including Handshake (our job database), PathwayU (which includes career assessments), and Big Interview (an online platform designed to help you learn about and practice for various types of interviews).
How Can I Offer Career Support To Students?
Mentoring happens every day in a variety of settings. Oftentimes a student just needs an answer to a quick question (“What is the best mode of public transportation in DC?”), while other times they’re looking for a longer-term contact who can help them navigate early career decisions.
To connect with students who are looking for career advice, we ask our alumni to create a LinkedIn account and join our LinkedIn group, the Earlham College Alumni Connection.
Hire an Earlhamite
Many of our alumni are influencing the world in meaningful ways and find themselves with positions to fill. We welcome the submission of any information you might have about job, internship, or volunteer opportunities.
If you are in a position to hire Earlham students as interns or permanent employees, please create an Employer account in Handshake, our office’s online job posting and application system. Students use Handshake to search and apply for jobs, as well as connect with employers of interest.
Career Advising
The Center for Global and Career Education can be a resource for general career guidance and resources. If you are interested in communicating with a Career Coach, whether in-person or via phone, Skype, or email, please fill out the form below. One of our Career Coaches will reach out as soon as possible.
*Please note that the CCE is closed on College holidays. If you submit a career coaching request during a holiday, we will reply as soon as we are back in the office.
